First lady Melania Trump has been degraded and attacked by her husband’s political opponents, but despite that, she has remained a figure of class and grace.
For example, during a recent visit to Paris with the president, she made her first stop a children’s hospital, offering comfort and hope to the patients and their families.
Trump visited the Necker Hospital on July 13, speaking in French to six children patients, according to the Associated Press.
Ysatis, a 14-year-old girl in a wheelchair told the first lady that she expected to leave the hospital soon to start rehabilitation.
“You look very good, very strong … Soon you’ll be walking and running,” Trump said, comforting the young teenager.
Ysatis was appreciative of the first lady’s visit, calling her “beautiful and gorgeous.”

“It was very pleasant and really good,” Ysatis said.
The ward Trump visited was decorated in honor of “The Little Prince,” an iconic French novel, and the director of Paris’ public hospital system later presented the first lady with a copy of it.
“I will keep it, practice my French. It’s beautiful,” Trump said.
Afterwards, the first lady tweeted about the visit, praising the hospital, its staff and their patients.
“Thank U @hospital_necker for allowing me to visit your wonderful patients & inspirational staff. Continued prayers for good health for all,” she said.
